I only had two posts this past week:
St. Augustine answers the question “How can we love God?”:
Earthly love and divine love cannot dwell in the same breast. An apostle wants to cleanse our hearts of earthly love so that we can love God. Such an apostle sees a human heart as a field covered with weeds. These weeds are the love of the world. This apostle would root up all the weeds so that the apostle may plant charity, the love of God. Then our hearts will be empty of earthly love; and divine love may live in our hearts.
