Sabbath Moments

Each Saturday, Colleen Spiro hosts “Sabbath Moments” at her blog, “Thoughts on Grace,” where you can read about and/or share your special moments from the week.

My main “Sabbath moment” was getting to spend some time last night seeing an old buddy who has been out of state for a while but is moving back to the area. I don’t get out much or get a lot of fellowship, plus I had seen him for a while, so it was good to relax at the café at Barnes & Noble, sip a cappuccino, and chew the fat! We talked in the café for about an hour and a half, then the store closed, so we had to move our conversation outside, where we ended up standing there by the parking lot in the cool night breeze and talking until about 11:30! Since he had a long drive back to where he’s staying for the time being, we figured it was about time to call it a night. But it was great to see him again, and we’ve been dealing with similar issues, so we were able to encourage each other.

An acquaintance emailed me some cute animal photos which gave me both some laughs as well as an “awwww” moment. Here’s one of my favorites:

This little piggy went to market...

Children and animals are a neverending source of entertainment!

And that’s what “Sabbath Moments” is all about–stopping to appreciate the little pleasures God has given us to enjoy.

  1. Hey, I recently wrote a song about the prodigal son and God’s grace. Hope it speaks to your heart. Thanks for listening!

  2. Ahh, the pleasure of good friends! And I’m always up for cute kid and animal photos. One of the most important things we can do for our health and perspective is laugh.

  3. Great Sabbath moments! Time with a friend is so precious and I can always use a smile and an awwwww.
Thank you for sharing them and for joining me every week!
